대만 작가 첸지앙홍(Chen, Jiang Hong) 개인전

아시아 미술의 허브인 대만의 Young Artist 첸지앙홍(Chen, Jiang Hong)은

용이라는 동양적 소재를 다각적인 사회 문제와 결합하면서 태고의 전설적인 아름다운 인간 본연을 말하고자 한다.

산업화와 환경오염 그리고 자연재해로 인해 사라져가는 인간성을 용의 눈을 통해 사회에 경고하고 있는 것이다.
동양의 먹색의 단아함과 드로잉은 천과 같은 소재과 함께 일상생활 속 도구들을 자유롭게 사용함으로써

붓 이라는 화구로부터의 자유로움을 표현 했으며 먹물로서 화면을 구성한다.

가장 적절한 회화적 표현인 절제된 단순미와 점고선으로 연결되는 거친 기하학적 느낌은

역동하는 용의 몸짓과 화용점정으로 이어져서 작은 화면을 벗어난다.
용의 눈은 정형화되지 않고 여러 가지 형태로 바뀌면서 사물이나 이념 등으로 비춰지고 있으며,

이것은 진실이 그 어떤 것으로도 국한되지 않고 변화되어감을 말해준다.
첸지앙홍은 전설의 용을 표현함으로써 용의 눈을 통해 모든 것을 정화하고자 했을 것이다.

『용의 눈은 동공이 되고, 새가 되고, 나무가 되고, 꽃이 되고, 지구가 되기도 한다.
용의 눈은 작은 모래알 모양을 하기도 하고, 우주가 되기도 하면서 나의 마음 속에서
부터 용을 타고 하늘로 날아오른다』 CHEN, JIANG HONG 작가노트 중에서…

대만 미술은 대만 청년작가들에게 많은 기회와 관심을 쏟고 있으며,

이것은 타이페이를 중심으로 하는 세계미술시장으로의 가능성을 보여주고 있다.
이번 전시에서 특별히 대만 미술계에서 30년 이상의 역사를 지닌 Apollo Gallery에서 추천한

화가 첸지앙홍의 첫 개인전을 통해 대만미술의 미래를 보는 훌륭한 전시가 되리라 생각한다.
